Thank you JJ for providing this information regarding the connection between health and food sensitivities. I treat patients with musculoskeletal pain and it is very clear to me that eliminating foods that spark inflammation can have a profound positive benefit for anyone. This book provides us with easy to understand guidelines to follow with rationales behind the recommendations. JJ Virgin’s book also teaches a plan that is easy to implement. It is not about deprivation-This is important to have success with any nutrition plan. I will be recommending this book to my patients.

JJ has it right! In my years as a medical doctor/psychiatrist, I know that it’s not ‘calories in, calories out.’ As JJ says, ‘your body is not a bank account but a chemistry lab’. Food intolerances are rampant, due to our poor food sources including GMO foods, other ‘non-foods’ that we ingest, and our overall toxic environment. Her advice to stop the offending foods is brilliant. It allows your body to lower it’s stress level and to heal, dropping the unwanted, hard-to-lose weight, enhancing your energy, clearing up your skin.. all the good things that happen to my patients when they are on this allergen free diet. In this step-by-step, user-friendly, entertaining, and practical book, JJ’s made this journey doable, and it works!

Most of the people I know could lose a little weight. I know I’m among the “most people.” We want to, we know the traditional ways that we “SHOULD” eat and exercise, BUT… something gets in the way. So we carry that weight, a little more each year. Another promise made – and broken – each year.

And then, I heard JJ Virgin talk about the 7 foods that cause inflammation. She talked about the body being more like a chemistry lab than a bank account. It’s not always about calories in and calories burned. Sometimes it’s about what the body does with the “fuel” it’s given.

I decided to give JJ’s plan a try. She gathered evidence from thousands of people she had seen in hospitals and in her practice. Not only had she done her research, but she got results over and over again. I will say that in eating differently and by dropping seven foods out of my diet, I’ve lost 19 pounds in the last five weeks. I’ve experimented with different foods and putting some back in at this point just to see what my chemistry lab of a body would do. I’m now pretty clear about what works for me and what doesn’t.

JJ’s plan is simple, easy to understand, and easy to do.

It’s funny to write a book review and to say that as a result of this information, I need new clothes!

The Virgin Diet works if you work it. As a doctor who treats thyroid disease, I work with the struggles of the MOST weight loss resistant people on a daily basis. Not only can The Virgin Diet help them, but many with early thyroid disease, The Virgin Diet alone can reverse their illness. 

One commenter said it was ‘fishy’ how The Virgin Diet got positive comments so early. JJ Virgin is not a flash in the pan, come from nowhere diet guru. The Virgin Diet did not start with this book. For years, JJ Virgin has been tirelessly teaching this approach to physicians. We have seen the results and demanded that she get this message out on a bigger scale. That is how the book has come about.
