I officially said goodbye to the 130s
Because of TVD, I said goodbye to the 160s, the 150s, the 140s, and today, I officially said goodbye to the 130s.
My only roadblock was myself. I had all the tools I needed, but for a long time, I struggled to realize that I was worth the effort. With congestive heart failure, hashimotos and a long list of other autoimmune diseases, I had truly given up on my own body.
Now, I can honestly say I’ve never felt better.

I’m looking forward to new family portraits at the lake this summer
J.J.’s “plan” was truly simple and easy enough for me to incorporate with the kids. I just needed to make it happen. Since starting the Virgin Diet, I lost about 14lbs (mostly inflammation and water weight).
I have more energy now (waking up before the kids, even!) and I’m looking forward to new family portraits at the lake this summer. We all sleep better and have fewer tantrums (myself included!).
Cholesterol and blood pressure medication cut in half
This is not a diet, it is my way of life. Since starting this program, I have lost over 50 lbs. I have had my cholesterol and blood pressure medication cut in half and I’m not even done yet! I have been with my doctor for over 12 years and she has watched me be on this diet and that diet, she told me that I am different this time, that I have found my niche!
My stomach settled down so completely and I felt less bloated every day
I turned 41 this past year. Along with weight gain, and stomach distress I also started experiencing acne, which up until my 40’s I have never had. After having kids I have also struggled with losing the last 10 pounds. I knew I needed to change something.
I’ve been on the diet now for over 28 days and I’m happy to say that I have not had one acne outbreak. My skin looks clear. The biggest change was that my stomach settled down so completely and I felt less bloated every day.
3 months into it and I feel like I did in my 20’s
The JJ Virgin diet has changed my life. Before I discovered JJ Virgin I was ALWAYS feeling sick, no energy, tired (but couldn’t sleep) and grouchy. I felt like the days would just fly by being unproductive and missing out on enjoying my kids. Once I started, about a week into it, I was amazed how great I was starting to feel. I am now 3 months into it and I feel like I did in my 20’s.
And as you say in your book- 7 days, 7 pounds. True for me!!
I have been swimming competitively since I was 8. (now 52) Swam in college (UC Berkeley) and still compete in US masters swimming. So any diet that interferes with my swimming goes out the window. Like if I feel too tired, weak, or slow from not eating enough out the door with that diet… Anyway the past 2 and a half weeks on the diet have been pretty good. My swimming has been fine- I am able to train at my normal intensity and yardage (4k, 4-5 days/week) And as you say in your book- 7 days, 7 pounds. True for me!! I have lost 9 pounds with the hopes of losing about 5-6 more pounds.
4 weeks on the Virgin Diet, no more pain!
I began the Virgin Diet after my Mom talked about it to another one of my salon guests. My Mom is 79 years young but was having stomach and bowl issues and wasn’t moving much. I am very athletic and thought, good for her, not an issue for me. Then I heard her talking about inflammation. I was having joint pain and thought it was hormones (menopause). After about 4 weeks on the Virgin Diet, no more pain, no more bread or wine cravings. I feel so great!!!
My energy levels more consistent throughout the day
JJ’s way of eating was completely new to me and I was scared to start on this journey. I was encouraged by the science in the book and figured that all the foods I was allowed to eat are healthy; if the diet didn’t work for me, I could always quit. No need: I lost 7.5 lbs in 2 days, 10 pounds my first week. My stamina also noticeably increased. The Virgin Diet has regulated my depression, anxiety, and has also made my energy levels more consistent throughout the day.
Abdominal muscles are showing again!
This diet has helped changed the lives of the people around me as well. My husband is getting his football body back (his abdominal muscles are showing again!) because I make all of our meals (shakes in the morning, bagged lunch for work, and of course dinner). We just opened up our own gym. We provide personal training sessions and speed and agility training for athletes. He does the workouts, I do the nutrition.
My feet and hands have quit swelling. My shoes are too big!
I have lost 25 pounds in eleven weeks. That is the fastest weight loss of my entire history of dieting. I have started working out in a pool three times a week. (Me – going to a gym!) I have not had the pain in my feet and knees. The stress incontinence that has plagued me for years is gone. My daily blood glucose tests are in the 90’s. My feet and hands have quit swelling. My shoes are too big. I feel better about myself and my future.
